World Scholar’s Cup is an educational event where students across the globe participate. Six students (Akshat Singh 10-A, MahakKathpalia 10-D, HarshdaGhai 10-E, Isha Arora 10-C, Vatsala Arora 10-B, Aarush Arora) from grade 10 along with their teacher Ms. Deepali Singh went to the United States of America to participate in the final round of the World Scholars Cup, the Tournament of Champions held at Yale University in New Haven, Connecticut from 10th November -15th November. This competition consisted of four events- debate tournament, persuasive essay writing , collaborative writing, scholars challenge (a multiple choice test), and scholars bowl (a multi-media quiz). All the events were related to the research the students did on the curriculum provided by the organization in advance.

There was a college panel organized where the students got an opportunity to interact with the students of Yale University and received quality advice as to how to approach the process of applying to study at an Ivy league university. The students toured the campuses of two of the Ivy league universities of America and MIT. Over 1,000 scholars participated hailing from over 50 countries across the globe. Our students socialized with such a diverse group of scholars through events like the scholars scavenge hunt, scholars ball and the cultural fair.

Despite the high level of competition the students performed exceptionally. The Tournament of Champions was the perfect opportunity to get exposure and they gained knowledge in subjects ranging from art, music, and literature to science, mythology and history. Students also enjoyed the city tour.

The medals won were 9 Gold medals, 15 Silver medals in all the categories that they participated. Overall it was an enriching experience for all of us.
