Earth Day (Grades 1 And II)

“One of the first conditions of happiness is that the link between man and nature shall not be broken.” -Leo Tolstoy.

The children of grades I and II celebrated ‘Earth Day’ on Friday, 21st April 2023. EARTH DAY is celebrated around the world with a beautiful message - “Our continuing efforts in our everyday lives will make this beautiful planet thrive.” Earth Day is proof that even one person can make a global impact in a positive way.
A quality circle time was held to demonstrate support for environmental protection. Discussion related to ‘Sustainable Development Goal 13 – Climate Action’ was held and the children were explained the need for urgent action to combat climate change.

Earth Day posters are an effective means of raising awareness of environmental issues. Their purpose is to inspire action, promote sustainable living, and communicate the need to protect our planet. Keeping this in mind, the students of Grades I and II participated in the ‘Poster Making Competition’.

They prepared captivating posters depicting various environmental issues like water crisis, plastic menace, deforestation, increasing use of chemicals etc. and various methods to overcome these issues to restore the original state of our mother Earth. The posters made by the students reflected their deep concern towards the environment. Further, they resolved to adopt concrete measures like sustainability, spreading awareness and encouraging ‘Reduce, Reuse and Recycle’.
