Sopravista International Festivals Italy

Suncity School, Sector-54, participated in the World Cup Folklore, a prestigious cultural event that took place in Venice-Jesolo, Italy, from Monday, 5th June to Saturday, 10th June 2023. The program was organized by the Sopravista Cultural Association 'Cultural in Movimento', which is associated with the EAFF (European Association of Folklore Festivals), the Municipality of Jesolo, and the Department of Tourism. It is worth noting that the EAFF is the Official Partner of UNESCO. We were pleased to be part of this initiative and grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with participants from other countries. Fifteen students participated in the 'Group Folklore Dance and Song (Junior)' category and received a first-degree diploma certificate and trophy. Each child was applauded with a certificate and a medal.

We believe that this program presented a unique opportunity for our students to immerse themselves in Italian culture and learn about the country's rich cultural heritage and everything it has to offer to the world. We were also keen to explore the similarities between the cultural legacies of Italy and India and how these legacies are being passed down to future generations through such cultural exchange programs. We are confident that these experiences will help shape our students into global citizens who value and appreciate diversity.

We understand the importance of cultural exchange programs and how they can help build bridges of understanding and cooperation between different cultures. Our participation in The World Cup Folklore program, along with exploring the country outside the event, helped foster cultural exchange, promote intercultural dialogue, and facilitate the development of lifelong friendships.

The children enjoyed their visit to Venice and explored various historical monuments, in addition to their mesmerizing Gondola ride, with their friends, two teachers- Ms. Jhuma Das and Ms. Sangeeta Bagchi, and the Director of the Suncity schools- Ms. Rupa Chakravarty.

The children behaved well throughout the trip and maintained the high moral and sanskars of the school.

We are grateful for the management's support, never-ending guidance, and care for the children of the school.
