The students of the Elementary Years Programme (Junior) visited a Church, Temple and a Gurdwara on Wednesday, 21st December 2022. The objective of the visit was to have exposure to all the major religions of the country and to learn about the basic tenets of these religions. The children witnessed different forms of worship besides the architectural peculiarities of different religious places.

The day started by offering prayers to the Almighty God, followed by the reinforcement of norms to be followed at a public place.

With great excitement, the children boarded the buses and reached the Church.

They offered their prayers in the Church. They experienced the preparations going on for Christmas and enjoyed singing carols. The trip to the Church was followed by a visit to the Gurdwara and the Temple. They covered their heads and washed their hands before they sat down to listen to the ‘Shabad’, at the Gurdwara. They were also served ‘Kada Parshad’ which they found very delicious.

On the way back, the little ones also visited an NGO to donate the items they have overgrown with, like books, clothes and toys to underprivileged children.

Their little efforts brought big smiles on the faces of the children at the NGO.

The visit helped the children in understanding the importance of appreciating little things in life. They came back quite enriched about different religions and found the trip educative and enlightening.
