The Annual Fiesta 2022 - ‘Saturnalia’ for grades III and IV, took place with great splendour and enthusiasm on the evening of December 9, 2022. The theme of Saturnalia this year was ‘Swadeshanurag’, meaning love for one’s nation. It was attended by a large gathering of eager parents. The event was presided over by the esteemed management trustee, Mr. Lakshmi Narayan Goel as well as the Chairman, Mr. Ankit Goel and distinguished guest Ms. Guneet Ohri, Principal, Suncity School sector 45 Gurgaon.

Saturnalia is awaited by one and all very eagerly, like a one big family celebration of extraordinary performances that reflect the high institutional values of Suncity World School. This annual celebration was no exception and our little Suncitizens left no stone unturned to showcase their remarkable skills and talent under the prodigious guidance of the Director Ms. Rupa Chakravarthy, and Headmistress Ms. Kavita Lal.

The event began with a welcome address by the Junior Head Girl, Aarna Sharma. After the lighting of the lamp and seeking the blessings of the Almighty, the chairman, Mr. Ankit Goel, addressed the parents. He mentioned that the annual fiesta was being celebrated after three years because of Covid 19 and prayed for the families who suffered immense losses during that time.

Our director, Ms. Rupa Chakravarthy , then recounted the best moments of the year in her prologue and apprised every one of the unique aspects of our curriculum, major national and international achievements and tie-ups, the excellent CBSE board results and reiterated the necessity of child-centric learning involving parents at various levels.

The school magazine ‘Synergy’ for the year 2021-22, was released by the Managing Trustee, Mr. Lakshmi Goel and Mr. Ankit Goel with great applause by the audience.

The children, all dressed in colourful and vibrant costumes matching their respective roles, performed their best with great zeal and passion. Their versatility, creativity and hard work, was visible in the outstanding show comprising of an energetic Shiv tandav, harmonious orchestra, a melodious rendition of favourites like ‘Ekla Chalo…’ and ‘Vaishnav Jan te …’ short skits, graceful dances etc. The audience was charmed by the apt impersonation of Amitabh Bachchan and Lata Mangeshkar by the little ones! The program depicted the journey of India and the incredible people who were instrumental in bringing modernity and progress to India.

The management trustee, Mr. Lakshmi Narayan Goel applauded the performances of the children and appreciated the hard work put in by all the teachers and support staff. He praised the efforts put in by our Director, Headmistress and all the teachers during the covid time and expressed happiness over the accomplished journey of Suncity school.

Mr. Lakshmi Goel, Mr. Ankit Goel and Ms. Rupa Chakravarti then awarded certificates and medals to the students who brought national and international accolades in various fields, in a well-decorated Prize Distribution Ceremony. The coveted trophy of Ace Suncitizen was awarded to Aarna Sharm of VI D.

The mesmerising event ended with a Vote of Gratitude by the Junior Head Boy Sehaj Sahani and the grand finale ‘Kesari’, the magnum opus, performed by our talented students.
