Design Thinking

Design Thinking & Innovation- DT & I Workshop

The school hosted a capacity building workshop Design Thinking and Innovation Workshop- DT & I on Saturday, 3rd December 2022 from 08:30-18:00 hours in the school auditorium. The workshop aimed to promote a learning environment where ideation, innovation and problem solving skills of students are nurtured.

The New Education Policy has laid emphasis on promoting critical and creative thinking skills amongst students through Design Thinking.

To achieve this goal, the Gurgaon Progressive Schools council – GPSC, organized One-day workshop wherein school Heads along with the Vice-Principal/Coordinator were trained in Design Thinking and Innovation- DT & I who will further train the teachers and students in their respective schools.

The Design Thinking & Innovation workshop was conducted under the aegis of CBSE and the Ministry of Education. Its aim was to provide teachers and students with the exposure to be able to address problems using the Design Thinking process by focusing on hands-on learning practices.

The day was broken up into interesting modules of experiential learning which gave the participants deep insight into the Design Thinking curriculum that is being launched in schools from the coming session.

Suncity school has played a leading role in designing the curriculum of the same with Mrs. Rupa Chakravarty being a core member of the academic panel and Ms. Kavita Lal, Ms Reena Dutta, Ms. Manju Batra and Mr. Vivek Mondal being contributing authors of the book.

Sessions were conducted Prof. Ravi Poovaiah (IDC, IIT Mumbai & D. L. Shah Chair Professor), Prof. Ajanta Sen (IDC, IIT Mumbai), Mr. Harish Sanduja(Academic Director –Principal, Doha, Qatar), Ms. Prajakta Kulkarni (Founder-Director, NODES, Pune) and Ms. Rupa Chakravarty (Director, Suncity schools, Gurgaon)

Fifty two participants from leading schools of Gurugram participated in the event. Mr. R. P. Singh, Joint Secretary CBSE delivered the final address and also gave away certificates to participants.
