Suncity School played host to the IIMUN conference (NCR chapter) from 14th-16th of October 2022. IIMUN is a youth-based organisation that seeks to empower the young generation by providing them relevant exposure to international and national matters of significance.

The event began with a gala Opening ceremony on Friday, the 14th of October 2022. Air Marshall Sanjeev Kapoor and eminent author Amish Tripathi (Shiva Triology) were the guests of honour for the evening. Both speakers addressed the audience on the topic ‘youth and leadership’, each giving their unique viewpoint about the same. The audience also got an opportunity to pose questions to them. The event was very well organised and saw a huge turnout (close to 600 attendees) from participating schools and their delegations, including Suncity school students, parents and teachers.

The proceedings of the actual conference began on Saturday morning. Seven committees were simulated, namely, UNGA, UNSC, UNW, UNODC, AIPPM, India-Pakistan Special Summit and Harry Potter Committee. Classrooms of grades VII and VIII turned into venues for close to 200 delegates as they debated and discussed various committee agendas. In all of this, the OC members of the Suncity School played a key role by providing strong logistic support.

The event ended on a happy note with the closing ceremony. Students from our school won the following awards:

Adityavikram Singh- All-India Political Parties Meet, Special Mention

Anysa Gupta- India-Pakistan Special Summit, Verbal Mention
