Inter-School Art Installation Competition

Ten students of grade VI participated in an Inter school Installation Competition organised by Kukudookoo Art Fest on October 1st and 2nd. The theme given was ‘Bindu’, a starting point from artist SH Raza’s expressions. They were mentored by Art Teachers Buddhadev M, Meghansh T and Kalyani V. Using as much reused, recycled/ waste/e waste as possible, they created an interactive installation. Our school bagged the second prize from the many schools that participated in Gurgaon.

Below is the description:

Title for the installation:
Am I a Treasure or a Trasher of my planet?

The Bindu is the point of all creation, the seed, the circle of life and death that cannot be broken.

This installation is viewed from both ends. On one side, the viewer is drowning in the whirlpool of trash mindlessly being generated on our planet by man. On the other side, the viewer is the protagonist emerging from the trash! The viewer becomes part of this interactive installation due to the mirror. It forces the viewer to introspect, to think about his actions.

The burning questions it poses is, ‘Am I a Treasure or a Trasher of my planet?

‘Do I want to fix the problem or do I want to add to the problem?’
