The students of Suncity School displayed the emotion of patriotism filled with joy, enthusiasm and energy to celebrate the Azaadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

The Chief Guest for the 76th Independence Day was Mr. Subhash Chandra Garg, an IAS - Indian Administrative Services Officer of Rajasthan cadre. He has served as Economic Affairs Secretary and has been the longest serving Finance Secretary of India. He has also served as an Executive director in the World Bank.

The ceremony began with the hoisting of the Indian flag, followed by the spectacular march past by the students, in their respective Houses. They marched forward, reaching out to everyone and rising up and standing strong, in their beautiful synchronised marching. The students of grades I & II presented their tableau celebrating the essence of diverse states such as Punjab and West Bengal and garnered a huge applause by the audience.

This was followed by the students of Suncity resonating the air with their patriotism by presenting an Assamese group song, Birangona which depicted the sacrifice of the freedom fighters to gain independence, such as Kanklata Barua, Moje Riba, Matmur Jamoh, Lomlo Darang and many more. The Chief Guest awarded a select few Students for their exemplary scholastic and co-scholastic performances. The Class XII Haryana state topper of the session 2021-22, Parth Mathur was felicitated by the Chief Guest for scoring an aggregate of 99.2%.

He awarded the House which displayed the best march past and also the House which won the Inter-house Patriotic singing competition.

As the program was coming to an end, the enthusiasm in the school remained the same. The Head Boy proposed the vote of thanks, further reminding us about the sacrifices made by our soldiers for the sake of our freedom and safety.

The perfect sign-off for the exuberant morning was done with kite-flying, which is synonymous with Independence Day celebrations, as it symbolizes the free spirit of India. It was enjoyed by one and all, young and old and filled them with energy and gaiety.
