Informative Session by the School Counsellor on Safe/Unsafe Touch
A session on ‘Safe/Unsafe Touch’ was conducted by the school counsellor, Ms. Ruchika Bhardwaj, for the students of Nursery and Kindergarten, ?
She briefed the children about safe/unsafe touch as well as about the safe circle. She explained to them that a touch that makes them feel safe and warm, and makes them smile is a safe touch. A touch that makes them feel uncomfortable and hurts them should immediately be reported to their parents or teacher.
She probed the children to think about what one should do when someone makes one uncomfortable leading the children to think, understand and provide a perspective on how different beings respond to a situation when they are made to feel uncomfortable. She discussed the safe circle and probed the children to think about the people in it. She advised the children to create their safe circles with the help of their parents.
