VIRTUAL PANEL DISCUSSION - CONSPECTUS- revolutionizing transversal skills and competencies through education
A VIRTUAL PANEL DISCUSSION –‘CONSPECTUS- revolutionizing transversal skills and competencies through education’ was held on Saturday, 29th January 2022 for the parents of CBSE grades VI – X. The objective was to spread awareness for Suncity International Academia.
Letter with information and link to registration was uploaded on Campus Care for all parents of grades VI-X. A poster on the same was forwarded on the parents groups across all classes reminding parents to register themselves. Thirty two parents registered across all grades using a Google form. The final poster with the panelists’ credentials and other particulars was circulated as well. A personal mail with the Zoom link was sent to each participant who had registered with us along with the subject choice forms for both IGCSE and IBDP.
Following three speakers spoke on the panel-
- Ms. Bulbul Chaudhary –Dean Admissions, ISDI, Mumbai
- Ms. Oindrila Chauhan- Director, Global Talent Acquisition, Microsoft India
- Mr. Sheldon D Wallbrown- Managing Director, Breakmark Education
Ms. Soma Ma’am moderated the session and was very effective in the role as she understood the audience very well and at the same time knew the panelists’ expertise and domain completely. Ms. Chaudhary spoke on the need of broad based learning and the opportunities it throws in the field of design to the students. Ms. Chauhan, added a lot of value to the discussion and spoke as an acquisition director and the skills that Microsoft looks at when hiring freshers or experienced employees. She stressed on the fact that being good at your work area is appreciated but being able to excel in many domains is excellent. Mr. Sheldon had a very relevant presentation that pointed to the new roles that are evolving in the workplace and the kind of passion required to fill these roles. He categorically laid stress on IBDP and Cambridge curricula that lead to broad based learning in students. This was followed by Q & A session that was well answered by the panelists. It was highly appreciated by the parents.
