Japan Art Mile, as part of student learning and research on SDG 14, invited Kalpana Ramesh, Water warrior, passionate activist for Rainwater harvesting, lakes and Heritage well restoration, consultant with Ministry of Water Resources. She was one of the seven women whom PM Narendra Modi chose to give his Twitter Handle to, on Women’s Day. Students of the project from grades 5, 6, 7 attended the talk, along with all sections of Grade 6.

She gave students a reality check, a direction to take action, in small ways that could have a big impact. Our students actively engaged with her, asked her thought provoking questions and made small pledges going forward. Student feedback has been encouraging. We shared the awareness posters that Art Mile students made and collected from their peers in different classes, with our guest. She wanted us to send these to her so she can inspire other students from other schools to do the same.
