The Global Women’s Online Chess Challenge “The Queens’ Festival”, is a series of continental and global women’s online chess tournaments and educative side events held in June.

Our school’s chess master Riddhika Kotia participated in the Asian leg of the same on 13th June, 2021, playing against a total of 178 players from 23 different countries, including IND, SRI, MGL, PLE, THA, JOR, MAS, JPN, KSA, UAE, LAO, KAZ, SGP, BAN, INA, AFG, PHI, KGZ, IRI, QAT, NEP, LBN, MDV. Riddhika’s excellent performance and extraordinary chess skills helped her secure the 11th position in the entirety of Asia.

The tournament was held online, to develop a strong global community of women in chess and enhance the participation of women in all aspects of chess life. Perseverance, creative thinking, strategic reasoning, and quick problem solving are essential skills that build a chess player- all of which Riddhika possesses and has displayed.
