In continuance to being partners of hugely successful and enriching international partnerships with schools from UK, Spain and France, Suncity School entered into the BRIDGE Partnership-India and Australia, with its partner school, Traralgon College this year.

Our first virtual video conference was held on 13 May 2021 with students of Grade VIII from both schools. Heeral Verma, Rishika Bhatia, Rishita Naidu, Aditveer Bhayana, Kaashvi Gupta, Ananya Vishwanathan, Anaya Taneja, Prisha Thukral, Srijan Seshadri, Mahika Parakh, Vedant Dhingra, Anahita Jain and Pulkit Agarwal participated in this meaningful and interactive session. The session was moderated by the BRIDGE Partner Educators from both schools, Daniel McCaughey and Sapna Bakshi.

The agenda of the video conference was to commence the partnership formally through an icebreaker session. This led to students discussing about themselves, their cities and communities. The students were then engaged in an engrossing discussion on SDG 11, sustainable cities and communities as well as SDG 3, Good Health and well-being. This would enable them to finalise on their first SDG related project in the BRIDGE Partnership.

The students communicated their perspectives and experiences freely and extended clarity in their understanding of their communities in these unprecedented times. They reflected on the relevance of these SDGs and shared some wonderful examples from experiences. They opened windows of understanding into each other’s cultures and communities.

During the reflection session, the students unanimously zeroed on SDG 3, Good Health and Well-being as the one closest to their heart and mind as their first partnership project goal.
