Virtual Diwali and Children's Day Celebrations

In these unprecedented times, when schools have merely become buildings without the soul for want of the students, virtual celebrations were much called for - Children’s Day and Diwali Celebrations.

At Suncity School, Children’s Day was celebrated virtually due to the Covid-19 pandemic restrictions. From dance preparations to plays, a plethora of activities was live streamed by teachers for students on Saturday, November 14. Director Ma’am’s thoughts on this beautiful occasion set the mood for further cheer and fun.

The day was made special with an amalgamation of acting, rapping, dancing, and singing.

The programme was initiated by clippings from last year’s Jam session recreating nostalgic moments. Introduction to Children’s Day started with paying heartfelt respects to Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru whose birthday we fondly celebrate as “Children’s Day”.

The program began with the quintessential prayer followed by the “Empowerment of Positivity” dance. Interspersed in between the various programmes were intriguing clippings of previous year’s celebrations to keep the audience hooked.

The coincidence of Diwali falling on the same day as Children’s Day was another reason to rejoice and showers of blessings were sent the children’s way. The programme was enjoyed thoroughly by the students.
