Topic — Impact of Covid 19 on Indian Economy

Suncity School participated in On line Economics Power Point presentation on the topic - Impact of Covid 19 on Indian Economy, hosted by Sidheshwar School on 15th October, 2020, under GPSC and has bagged first position.

XII grade students - Paridhi Gupta and Mrityunjaya Thakur, impressed the judges with their views that how ‘Vasudhaiva Kudumbkam’ — Indian philosophy has made all the economies realise that the whole world is one family.

And humanity is above everything. How GDP- growth indicator, all of a sudden, has merely become ‘DP’ of the developed nations.

On the one hand, Children applied their concepts of Micro Economics — Production Possibility Curve that how with loss of human lives, it has shifted leftwards, on the other hand, they were able to relate macro economics concept of GDP successfully with the present COVID scenario

In the end, they concluded on a positive note that while micro and macro concepts of Economics shows us that picture where we see growing poverty and unemployment , fall in tourism industry etc during this pandemic, however we have started looking at Welfare Economics also as people have started appreciating the efforts of doctors, bankers and teachers - how our educators have so comfortably adjusted themselves to virtual classes.

The whole presentation was very well coordinated and presented by both the participants and with in the time limit. In all,  20 schools participated, Amity, Blue Bells, Salwan, GD Goenka, D. A. V, to name a few.
