About the event:
‘Times of Sports’ under the banner of ‘F1 in Schools’ organized the regional championship at Suncity School on 31st January and 1st February 2020.
In total, 48 teams comprising of 268 students from 15 schools of Delhi NCR participated in the event.
As per the standard competition norm all teams designed a race car which was later developed into a miniaturized car and made to propel by pressurized carbon dioxide canister over a 24m long racing track.
Teams competed on an overall accumulation of points (total of 1000 points) which included points on reaction time (time taken for pulling the trigger), overall time (time spent on covering the race track) as well as aspects related to the dynamics of team work, overall look and feel of the team’s pit booth/stall, verbal presentation and engineering judging.
Conduct of the event:
Suncity School hosted the event which was divided into two phases.
Closing of the event:
The award ceremony started off at 16:30 hours after the arrival of the chief guest, Mr. Vikas Jain (Owner/Joint Managing Director of PMV Maltings Pvt Ltd., PMV Nutrient Products Pvt Ltd. and The Malt Company India Pvt Ltd.). Suncity School’s director Mrs. Rupa Chakravarty was also present on the occasion.
The event concluded by 17:30 hours and the organizers left the school’s premises along with all their equipment by 20:30 hours
