Artificial Intelligence-AI K-12 CURRICULUM PROGRAMME
PRINCIPALS ORIENTATION WORKSHOP
Date:11th Sept,2019  Venue: Springdales School ,Pusa Road

The Workshop began with the Inaugural Address by the CBSE Chairperson ,Mrs Anita Karwal  who talked about the CBSE initiative of  introducing  AI as a step towards Experiential Learning .

This endeavour would help to unleash the explorative and creative nature of children and prepare them for the 21st Century Skills that will prepare them for global citizenship.

Artificial Intelligence has been introduced as a subject from Grade VIII
this year and the learning modules, flip and e modules will be available
soon on the official website. Making AI an integral part of the curriculum
through interdisciplinary projects is the vision ahead and support from all
stake holders is required to take it forward. Introducing design thinking
as a subject would be the next step.

The IBM Project Head was the second speaker who apprised all about how machine learning had started in the year 1800 but has now taken the world by its stride.

AI introduction would work on three areas, knowledge, skills and values that are required to introduce good technology. A collaborative approach that builds goodwill would be the focus and as children have an abundance of ideas reverse mentoring will happen and new apps can be launched for productive disruptions,    and re -skilling that is the need of the hour for producing a future skill proof generation.

Other sessions followed with the trainers who took the delegates through the AI learning and its use in every field and the implication it has in our day to day lives.

The workshop was enriching, inspiring the leaders to take on technology
as a way of life and condense it with the school eco system.
