Report on Creativity in Education Workshop

Date: 4th August 2018

Venue: Sri Venkateshwara International School

Time: 8:30 a.m. to 1:45 p.m.

Participants from Suncity school-Ms. Ayesha Ahmed and Mr. MeghanshThapa

The workshop started as per schedule and had a list of activities.

The first activity was to draw a big circle on a piece of paper and fill it with the images as imagined by a five-year-old. The purpose of this task was to realize that there should be no limitations to creativity and imagination.

This was followed by a second activity where the trainer showed a series of colours and instructed to write adjectives and emotions related to the colours. The participants were then put into groups and asked to compose a ‘Rainbow Poem’ comprised of all the colours. This activity helped to understand that all the children are like different colours and evoke different emotions and react differently.

In the third activity, two set of pictures were shown where the first were a compilation of landscapes and the second set focussed on individual components. This was to facilitate the difference in understanding of the bigger and smaller aspects of learning.

In the final task, all the participants were to present their ‘Journey of Life’ in the form of a drawing however the challenge was to connect the drawing with an element from the previous participant’s drawing. For this purpose, the participants were assigned numbers in order to maintain the connectivity of ideas.

Overall, it was a different and enriching learning experience.
