Report of Inter-House Taekwondo Competition held on 26th April 2024
Theme of the Year - Phoenix: - Sometimes you have to burn yourself to the ground before you can rise from the ashes.
With sports as an integral part of the school curriculum leading young learners towards
divergence in the thinking process and fostering creativity in team sports, competitors are led to achieve remarkable skills that contribute to sports upgrades.
Thus the 11th Taekwondo Inter House Competition was held in school during club hours on April 26, 2024. As Bruce Lee rightly said, ‘Fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times.’
This was the thought in the minds of our fighters when they were out in the field either preparing for or actually playing the matches. With this spirit the event was filled with fervor and excitement amidst thrills, shrills and cheers. Parents were cordially invited and our ever supportive Managing Trustee, Mr Laxmi Narain Goel, Our Chairman Mr Ankit Goel, Member of School Managing Committee, Mr Arpit Goel, Madam Mansi Goel and Madam Namrata Goel were also part of the dynamism of the event. Our very own Rupa Ma’am, The Director of Suncity Schools was also present to give her blessings to all participants.
The competition started off with encouraging words from Mr Laxmi Narain Goel and thus seeking his blessings and declaring the competition open. The match was played in a series of league matches between all four houses during the month of April. Houses scored the maximum points in the league matches and reached the finals. The team work and camaraderie of all the players was a joy to behold. The event culminated in the prize giving ceremony. Throughout the tournament, one was constantly reminded of the same spirit that is displayed by the world class Taekwondo fighters.
It was a day filled with sportsmanship, enthusiasm and memories to cherish. The Director Mrs. Rupa Ma’am thanked all for their cooperation and support and advised children to keep up their competitive spirit high.
Indian house was emerged as the winner!.
The prizes were.
