Bodily Kinesthetic Event Grades I and II

‘‘In the dust of defeat as well as the laurels of victory, there is a glory to be found if one has done his best’’ - Eric Liddel

In the heart of the Elementary Years Programme, a transformative event unfolded, embracing the essence of resilience and triumph. On Tuesday, 14th May, 2024, young learners of grades I and II stepped onto the field for the ‘Bodily Kinesthetics Event’, a testament to the holistic development philosophy followed by the school.

‘Phoenix Beadathon Adventure’ – Grade 1

The youthful contenders surged forth from the starting line with a singular objective: to conquer the challenge that lay ahead. Their determination was palpable as they embarked on the arduous journey towards the commando net, strategically positioned at a distant point on the course. With agility and precision, they deftly maneuvered through the intricacies of the commando net obstacle. Advancing to the subsequent station, the participants encountered a test of finesse and dexterity. Here, a ball and plunger awaited their delicate touch, requiring them to delicately position the ball atop the plunger before progressing further. The children executed this task with unwavering precision, ensuring the ball remained perfectly balanced throughout the duration of their journey.

A collection of beads, each adorned with different letters, was kept at the final station. The children meticulously selected the correct letters to spell out the word ‘PHOENIX’. Once the letters were collected, they arranged them in the correct sequence on a thread. The first three participant to complete this task and cross the finish line were declared as the winner.

Rising Phoenix -Grade II

The learners kicked off their journey with a spirited sack race from the starting line, aiming to reach the first station. At this station they encountered a phoenix-themed belt awaiting them. Leaving the sack at the first station, they donned the belt and progressed towards a captivating jigsaw puzzle kept at the second station. The children applied their mathematical prowess at the second station to solve the multiplication equations written on the puzzle pieces and then placed these puzzle pieces in alignment with the solutions they arrived at to form a phoenix. Once the puzzle was successfully solved, they made a beeline for the finish line. The first three participant who reached the finishing line were declared as the winner.
