REPORT OF 16TH INTER HOUSE CHESS TOURNAMENT HELD ON 17th MAY 2024
“Chess holds its master in its bonds, shackling the mind and brain so that the inner freedom of the very strongest must suffer.”
Chess is a game of not only intellect and trickery but of bouncing back after losses, practice, discipline and persistence. The expertise that students have developed in chess at such a young and tender age is commendable and inspiring for all. This statement proved true for the 16th Inter-House Chess Tournament held on 17th May 2024 at Suncity School. The students represented their house with determination and a thirst to win. The various twists and turns during the game had the audience on the edge of their seats and the opponents proved their mettle by overcoming the obstacles with wit and tenacity. At the end of their round, the opponents shook hands and congratulated each other on their brilliant plays. They also cheered for their teammates in other games.
We would like to thank the lively audience for their time, Our Director, Ms. Rupa Chakravarty for guiding the students and enabling them to showcase their talent, the ever-willing enthusiastic parents for their unyielding support and motivation, and the sports department for their hard work organizing the event.
