Report on the Session by a Nutritionist

"Your diet is a bank account. Good food choices are good investments." - Bethenny Frankel

Eating a balanced diet abundant in fruits, vegetables and whole grains is widely recognized for its role in providing essential nutrition to sustain a healthy lifestyle. It is rightly said that healthy eating habits take root in the early years, it's imperative to foster a culture of making wise dietary decisions among children. Keeping this in mind, an informative session by a nutritionist, Ms. Manpreet Kalra, was conducted for the students of EYP1, EYP2 & EYP3, on Tuesday, 7th May 2024.

The session began by taking the blessings of the Almighty. It was followed by an EYP3 student welcoming the guest speaker.

Ms. Kalra illustrated the significance of a balanced diet for children through a story, highlighting the inclusion of diverse foods such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, proteins and dairy products. She emphasized its vital role in fostering healthy growth and development. She encouraged the children to prioritize homemade, nutritious meals. Additionally, she sensitized the little ones to the detrimental effects of consuming junk food on their health.

To review their understanding, she asked a few questions. The children responded well and participated enthusiastically while answering the questions.

The session concluded with a note of gratitude by an EYP3 student and by presenting a planter to Ms. Manpreet Kalra.

The learning from the session was reiterated by the class teachers by integrating the topic, ‘Nutritious Diet’, in sync with Sustainable Development Goal 3- Good Health and Well-Being.

Overall, the session was informative and a great learning experience for the children.
