On Monday, 16^th October 2023, the students of grades I and II hosted some underprivileged children from Maharishi Dayanand Model Primary School. They warmly welcomed the guests with their dance and singing performances. Keeping in mind the two SDG’s - SDG 1 No Poverty and SDG 3 Good Health and Well-being, the students of grade 1 gifted the children healthy food items (fruits, dry fruits, dates, etc.), stationery items and items of daily use. A few age-appropriate books from the Suncity school library were also donated to the children. The children from the NGO danced and sang beautifully for everyone. Their performance and team spirit was appreciated by one and all.   

As a part of the ongoing theme ‘Food’, the students of grade II had baked and sold some cupcakes to the parents who attended the grade II ‘Parents’ walk-in’ event in the month of October. As a small step towards SDG 2 Zero Hunger, the proceeds from the sale were donated to the NGO and were also used to arrange breakfast for the underprivileged children. The children enjoyed their food in the refectory and created some memorable moments together.

This activity helped the children to appreciate little things in life and to become responsible citizens of the society. The children also learnt the important virtue of spreading joy with small acts of kindness.
