7th Inter-House Basketball Competition Held On 27th October 2023
Suncity School has always aimed at the overall development of its students and committed to fostering the holistic development of its students, earning a well-deserved reputation for nurturing well-trained and competitive youngsters across all age groups.
The basketball court of Suncity School was filled with great zeal, excitement, and a frolicsome atmosphere on 27th Oct 2023 as we set off for the 7th Inter-House Basketball tournament played between the Arctic and Indian House.
It was Indian House that emerged as the winner.
The theme of the year is ‘Uketamo’ and our players displayed the same through acceptance of every challenge in the game and being competitive as well as a true example of sportsmanship and brotherhood.
The tournament witnessed a lot of close contests with each team jumping and leaping to score baskets. It was a close match as both the houses put in their best foot forward. Lay-ups were met with intense blocks as the players sweated it out on the courts.
The budding players witnessed various emotions like apprehension, dedication, and pride. But in the end, they learned that a game is not only about winning – it is also about knowing how to accept defeat gracefully and giving it their all. It is all about trying to strategize, evaluating their strengths and weaknesses, and understanding their teammates, all while representing their respective houses, which indeed motivated them to perform better.
The other team also took it in the same sportsman spirit and gracefully congratulated the winning house. It was a grand success that would not have been possible without the unending support and co-operation of our Director, Mrs. Rupa Chakravarty, and the Sports department.
