Inter-School ‘MI-me’ Event 2023

We, at Suncity School, firmly believe that Multiple Intelligences approach can enable each child to maximize his/her achievement. We all know that children are blessed with their unique quality and ability as Howard Gardner rightly defines; “It is not how smart you are; it is how you are smart.”

With this thought in mind, ‘MI-me’ Event was organized by the Elementary Years Programme on Thursday, 29th of September 2023.

All the competitions held in this event were based on ‘Multiple Intelligences’. One student from each school participated in the following competitions:

Pre – nursery

  • Visual-Spatial, Logical, Naturalistic Event, ‘The Sakura’
  • Bodily Kinesthetic Event, ‘Go Bananas’
  • Verbal Linguistic event, ‘Wiggle, Jiggle, Sing and Giggle’

Nursery

  • Visual-Spatial, Logical and Naturalistic Event, ‘Shape a Narrative’
  • Bodily Kinesthetic Event, ‘Roll to Rescue’
  • Verbal Linguistic Event ‘Pathway to Success’

Kindergarten

  • Visual-Spatial, Logical and Naturalistic Event, ‘Nature’s Splendour’
  • Bodily Kinesthetic Event, ‘Dini Dig’
  • Verbal Linguistic Event, ‘Dregs to Jewels’

Grade I

  • Visual-Spatial and Naturalistic Event, ArtisTREE’
  • Bodily Kinesthetic Event, ‘Ikebana Race’
  • Verbal Linguistic Event, ‘Yin and Yang’

Grade II

  • Visual Spatial and Naturalistic Event, ‘Foodicature’
  • Bodily Kinesthetic Event, ‘Mitsubachi Race’
  • Verbal Linguistic Event, लोककथा के कथावाचक

The exclusive category was ‘MI-me’ Champion of the Day for Nursery, Kindergarten, Grade I and Grade II where only one child (each grade) from each school participated in all the above competitions.

The programme started at 09:30 hours with the Lighting of the Lamp ceremony in the presence of the Chief Guest, Ms. Leena Thukral, esteemed guests, judges, and Ms. Sangeeta Bagchi, the Headmistress of the Elementary Years Programme. It was followed by prayers and a scintillating dance performance by the students of Suncity school, sector-54.

Children from the NGO, ‘Sarvam Shakti’ were invited and were provided a platform to showcase their talent. They gave a laudable performance. Various entertaining performances were given by the children of Suncity school which were appreciated by all.

The event was graced by the presence of the Director Administration, Suncity Schools, Madam Mansi Goel, Chief Guest, Ms. Leena Thukral along with the esteemed judges Ms. Anjali Sudan, Ms. Bhairavi Buch Sonowal, Ms. Aruna Bhardwaj, Dr. Suruchi Modi, Mr. Meghansh Thapa and the Chief Empowerment Officer of the NGO ‘Sarvam Shakti’, Ms. Himangi Bhatnagar.

The esteemed guest and judges were given mementos, clay souvenirs and saplings as a token of love and gratitude. All the participants from the above-mentioned schools were given gifts and participation certificates.

All the competitions took place at their respective venues. The participating students performed enthusiastically and gave their best.

The following students from Suncity School, sector 54, made us proud by winning various competitions:

  • Advit Goel won the ‘MI-me’ Champion of the Day from Nursery.
  • Shannaya Bhutani won the ‘MI-me’ Champion of the Day from Kindergarten.
  • Kavish Lath won the ‘MI-me’ Champion of the Day from Grade I.
  • Harshita Saha stood as the ‘MI-me’ Champion of the Day from Grade II.
  • Meher Batra of Pre-nursery stood at the 1st position in the category ‘The Sakura’.
  • Vihaan Nayyar of Pre-nursery stood at the 2nd position in the Bodily Kinesthetic Competition, ‘Go Bananas’.
  • Ayaansh Kumar of Pre-nursery won the 1st position in the Verbal Linguistic Competition, ‘Wiggle, Jiggle, Sing & Giggle’.
  • Avyansh Goel of Nursery stood at the 1st position in the Logical Competition, ‘Shape a Narrative’.
  • Anushka Jain of Nursery stood at the 2nd position in the Bodily Kinesthetic Competition, ‘Roll to Rescue’.
  • Jiyana Hingorani of Nursery stood at the 1st position in the Verbal Linguistic Competition, ‘Pathway to Success’.
  • Poorvi Chanana of Kindergarten stood at the 1st position in the Naturalistic Competition, ‘Nature’s Splendour’.
  • Karan Ambawat of Kindergarten came 1st in the Bodily Kinesthetic Competition, ‘Dino Dig’.
  • Dhriti Joshi of Kindergarten stood at the 1st position in the Verbal Linguistic Competition, ‘Dregs to Jewels’.
  • Ashwin Kubba of Grade I got the consolation prize in the Verbal Linguistic Competition, ‘Yin and Yang’.
  • Aarohi Agarwal of Grade II came 2nd in the Visual-Spatial & Naturalistic Competition, ‘Foodicature’.
  • Prisha Arora of Grade II stood at the 2nd position in the Bodily Kinesthetic Competition, ‘Mitsubachi Race’.
  • Atharv Mishra of Grade II stood at the 1st position in the Verbal Linguistic Competition, ‘लोककथा के कथावाचक’.

Blue Bells Preparatory School won the trophy and stood on top of the charts by winning the maximum number of competitions.

The event concluded on a happy and positive note. It was a great learning experience for the children and the teachers. All the children performed with great confidence and enthusiasm. The dance performance by the students of Suncity School, sector 54, was appreciated by the teachers of participating schools. Suncity parents were thankful to the school for giving this platform to their children where they could showcase their talent. All the participants were taken care of very well keeping in mind the ethos of Suncity school. All the participants and their respective teachers participated enthusiastically and went back happily.
