On Wednesday ,27th September,2023 Suncity School was the venue partner for F1 in schools India Qualifiers 2023-24 , brought to us by STEMplify. F1 in Schools is a Global Educational Initiative by Formula 1 for students aged 9-19 who work in teams of 3-6 to design and manufacture a miniature car out of an official F1 model block using CAD/CAM design tools, while Stemplify is amplifying skills through STEM Learning & Competitions. STEMplify offers experiential STEM learning programs in the form of STEM Clubs & STEM curriculums. It involves a series of experiential STEM learning program designed by global educators and corporate firms spread across various industries like Automobile Designing, Project Management, Artificial Intelligence, Gaming, Coding, Machine learning, 3D designing, Robotics and Entrepreneurship.

The day began with registrations for the 32 teams (19 live and 13 virtual) schools and allotting each of the teams a Suncitizen buddy and proceeding to the Auditorium for the opening ceremony. The opening ceremony commenced with invoking the blessings of the almighty through mantra recitation and the auspicious lighting of the lamp by Ms Rupa Chakravarty ,the director of Suncity schools and Mr Yashraj Singh, Founder at STEMplify |Time of Sports, Country Chief - Formula 1 in Schools India. Mr Singh was then invited on stage to address the audience where he welcomed the participating schools and shared that F1 in schools was being conducted live after 3 years due to the pandemic. Later, Ms Rupa Chakravarty was invited on stage where she expressed her fondness for experiencing the adrenaline rush during such events and shared how her family loves watching F1 races. The speeches were followed by the opening of the event by the director Ms. Chakravarty and Mr. Singh who raced the miniature compressed air powered cars made from F1 model block.

The day was well planned with reaction time races in Auditorium where an timely reaction would save one from penalty being imposed on the teams, verbal presentations were being conducted at various venues in the International Academia building and the physics lab in which the students had to briefly speak about their car models, sponsors, team contributions, collaborations, goals , inspiration, motivation and aims and the teams were interjected by judges from Time of Sports, which was followed by the knock out races in the auditorium.

The day was filled with excitement, stem learning, bonding and collaboration among teams. It is an interesting way to learn Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) related subjects and achieving great results with the support of the Formula 1 community .
