Animals are a gift from above for they truly define the words, unconditional love. Visiting a zoo brings human beings closer to these living beings. A visit to a zoo is not only fun but also teaches us a lot of things. It gives us immense knowledge about the habitats and food habits of various animals, beasts and birds. Keeping this in mind, the students of the Junior Elementary Years Programme were taken for a visit to the National Zoological Park on Tuesday, 15th November 2022.

The trip began with the teachers enlightening the little ones on a few things they need to keep in mind while visiting the zoo such as, always staying with their teachers, not feeding the animals as that could be harmful to them, not teasing or frightening them by making any kind of noises, not littering the place and not getting close to the animals.

In the zoo, the little ones saw various animals in their natural habitat. They had a memorable time going around and watching beautiful birds like macaws, pheasants, peacocks, parrots and many migratory birds. They were sensitive towards them by being silent and not disturbing them. The teachers also shared ways to nurture them with care keeping SDG 15 -Life on Land in mind.

The visit helped the children to learn a lot more things about different species of animals besides the fun and frolic that they had.
