Day 1: Arrival and Introduction to Adventure
The students departed at 5:00 AM and arrived at Camp Kanechi by noon, welcomed with refreshments and a safety briefing by the vendor, HAB Learning. The tents and washrooms were clean and well-maintained. After an acclimatization walk, students engaged in team-building activities focused on leadership skills, concluding the day with a campfire where they bonded over shared experiences.
Day 2: Leadership Development and CAS
The day started with energizing games and riverside reflection, followed by a visit to a local school as part of CAS. The students conducted educational activities, participated in the school assembly, performed a dance, shared thoughts on global warming, and donated books. The afternoon featured the 'Tera Tera' trek to a waterfall, which enhanced time management, decision-making, teamwork and leadership skills. The day ended with a cultural exchange and reflection session where the students emphasized on how they were able to connect with nature without any technology/devices around and this was an experience they would like to take forward.
Day 3: Final Debrief and Departure
After breakfast, a debrief session allowed students to reflect on their growth in leadership, collaboration, and problem-solving. The group returned to school by 9:00 PM, enriched by the experience.
Vendor Recommendation
HAB Learning provided a well-organized, enriching trip that met the students' needs and offered a balance of adventure, creativity, and service. The clean facilities, the presence of an MBBS doctor, and the focus on leadership development make them highly recommended for future trips.
