On Tuesday, April 1st, 2025, the students of Grade 1C at Suncity School truly embodied this spirit in their vibrant Welcome Assembly for the PYP students as they stepped into a new academic session. The event set a lively and joyful atmosphere for all, as students from grades I to IV immersed themselves in a series of engaging activities, including a mesmerizing magic show and an enchanting storytelling session, all in the course of this fun-filled day! These experiences brought learning to life in the most exciting ways.

A Heartfelt Welcome: Setting the Tone for the Day

The assembly began with a heartfelt prayer, setting a positive tone for the event. This was followed by a confident presentation of the latest news headlines, demonstrating the learners' awareness of current events. They also shared an inspiring ‘Thought’ and ‘Word of the Day’, encouraging positivity and kindness among their peers.

The highlight of the assembly was the skit titled "Welcome to Suncity: A Warm Beginning for New Friends!" Through this engaging performance, the learners conveyed a meaningful message about Suncity School, emphasizing the importance of kindness toward new students and helping them adjust to the school culture. The audience remained captivated throughout the skit.

The assembly culminated with words of appreciation from the Head of School, Ms. Nandita Mathur, who also handed over scrolls to the respective section educators. This was followed by a birthday celebration and tuneful rendition of the National Anthem.

Ms. Neeta Joshi captivated the learners with her expressive narration and interactive storytelling techniques. She shared two fascinating stories - Ollie’s Adventure, an original creation by her, and Pasta Story - a charming folktale from Italy. Through her animated voice, gestures, and dramatic expressions, she brought the characters to life, keeping the learners thoroughly engaged and intrigued.

Stories bring meaning to everyone’s life, and Ms. Neeta Joshi, with her storytelling expertise, beautifully conveyed this essence. The session not only entertained but also encouraged creativity, imagination, and a love for stories among the learners.
