Suncity School, Sector 54, Gurugram, organized an Orientation Programme for a new set of parents on Saturday, 18 th January 2025. The objective was to familiarize the parents with the curriculum, rules and regulations of the school, teaching methodologies and co-curricular activities.

The programme commenced with a warm welcome note delivered by a student of EYP3, followed by prayers. The event featured a musical performance by Grade-II students, followed by a mesmerizing dance performance by the students of EYP3. The Vice Principal of the Elementary Years Programme, Ms. Sangeeta Bagchi, addressed the gathering and began the session with an engaging activity. The session focused on the importance of fostering a growth mindset in children and how it contrasts with a fixed mindset.

She emphasized embracing challenges, learning from mistakes and building resilience for overall development. Parents were encouraged to model positive behaviour, praise efforts and support perseverance.

The gathering was then addressed by our passionate Director, Ms. Rupa Chakravarty, who spoke about the true objective of education - to prepare children for the real world.

The parents were provided an insight into the teaching methodology, as teachers demonstrated a lesson plan in the classrooms. It was an amalgamation of various hands-on activities with multiple intelligences, Sustainable Development Goals and design thinking (VUCA). Parents actively participated in a range of activities and thoroughly enjoyed the demo session.

The parents expressed that they enjoyed the day and felt a strong sense of trust and confidence in the institution, teachers and the school’s approach. They also shared that the session was not only informative but also inspiring, helping them see the value in the school's educational philosophy and the methods being implemented.

The programme culminated with the note of gratitude by a student of EYP3 and soulful rendition of the National Anthem.
